Member Events

Leighton Art Centre (LAC) members enjoy exclusive discounts and are encouraged to submit their artwork to our four annual member events, which are organized by LAC staff. Artist consignment is 50/50 and LAC payment terms are 60 days. Artists must be current members for the duration of their participation in each event. Please watch our social media feeds and e-newsletters for more information.

NOTE:  

• All members and friends of LAC are welcome to volunteer at these events.
• We offer free membership to student artists and welcome them to submit their artwork.

Juried Members Exhibition

Our annual Juried Member Exhibition, held in February – April, is an opportunity to celebrate the talent and creativity of Leighton Art Centre’s member artists! Each artist may submit artwork from any artistic genre, including but not limited to painting, drawing, writing, sculpture, ceramics, metalwork, textiles, woodwork, glass, photography, and performance. Submissions will be considered for selection by a panel of jurors.

Application Dates: Dec 5, 2025 – Jan 5, 2026

Clothesline Art Event & Market

The June Clothesline Art Market & Online Sale is our most popular signature summer sale and one of the longest running programs at LAC.

All artist members are invited to apply for participation in the weekend outdoor market and/or month-long online event. Applications for the in person market and the month long online sale will be considered for selection by a panel of jurors.

Paint the Foothills Plein Air Painting Event

A highlight of the year is our September Paint the Foothills Plein Air Event where all artists are invited to spend a weekend taking in the breathtaking views and painting the beautiful vistas at Leighton Art Centre. Member artists have the added benefit of registering for our painting competition and wet paint sale. Visitors are encouraged to vote for the People’s Choice Award!

Festive Foothills Art Event

This spectacular seasonal event takes place in November – December and the whole LAC house becomes a delightful showcase of artwork from all mediums. Festive Foothills is a great opportunity for emerging artists to experience marketing their artwork. All artist members are invited to apply for participation and applications will be considered for selection by a panel of jurors.
