Description: Leighton Art Centre and the Diamond Valley Sustainable Living Centre invite you to join us in celebrating Earth Day 2024. This collaborative effort epitomizes the mutual values championed by our organizations, as we strive to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for our planet. Join us on April 20th, 2024 to delve into the combination of art, science, and nature through our interactive workshops.
What does it mean to live sustainably? Is it important? Should we be concerned about our planet and our natural resources like water and air? Join Dr. Larry Kapustka in this thought-provoking workshop. Where participants will be involved in a challenging exercise that will lead through a hypothetical situation that forces trade-offs, compromise, and collaboration. The insights experienced in the exercise will be used to start discussions that consider sustainable solutions to challenges faced in our communities and beyond (e.g., the looming water crisis). We hope you leave this workshop renewed and inspired by what you can do to help the planet as a whole.
We ask that all participants wear a medical-grade mask for this event. Larry’s wife, Susan will be undergoing chemotherapy treatment at the time of this event and will be immunocompromised. Thank you for your understanding. LAC will have masks available onsite.
