WINTER CLOSURE – closed to the public Dec. 21, 2024 – Jan. 31, 2025.

Nature at Leighton

Here at Leighton Art Centre, we are the proud stewards of 80 acres of natural foothills grasslands, featuring spectacular Foothills and Rocky Mountain views and supporting numerous local flora and fauna.

The next time you visit, be sure to get outside to take in the spectacular views and enjoy our walking trails, including our 3.5 km Bird Box Art Walk.

In winter, you are very welcome to explore the property on snowshoes (bring your own) during our regular operating hours.

We periodically offer Nature Programs on topics like identifying animal tracks in the snow, birding, and identifying local plants. If we have a nature-oriented program coming up, it’ll be displayed on our Workshops page and at the bottom of this page.

Please note: you may find fewer programs during the winter months.
