David Nielsen has a story to tell. This Calgary based artist and Art Educator, uses spray paint, stencils, collage, and abstraction that coexist alongside traditional painting techniques. He wants to get to the heart of the story, and often engages in a frank discussion on the canvas. What results are engaging, witty pieces that explore our Albertan landscape and their impact on its peoples. This Pop/Street Art, and Plein Air landscape hybrid is fresh and engaging. Like our province, it brims with Natural Energy.
Nielsen is also one-half of the artistic collaborative known as Quality Painters, whose work has gaining attention with various Canadian curators.
Nielsen is a full member of the Alberta Society of Artists
