Make your own cards and art for the gift-giving season! Karen will lead you through some fun experimentation as you work with Alcohol Inks. These fluid brilliant inks create some almost magical abstract designs. In this workshop, you will create several small finished paintings that will be ready to frame! In addition, Karen will show you some other fun ways to use alcohol inks. If you have learned this medium before, or if you are a beginner, there is something for everyone.
Alcohol inks are an ideal introduction to working in an abstract style as they are such a free-flowing medium. You will work with a range of vibrant and translucent colours. Through experimenting and exploring with your choice of colours you’ll learn how to create depth and balance within the composition.
We begin with a brief demo and discussion of various techniques. Participants will experiment and create their own masterpieces. This is a good way to let go of your control and see what the inks do on your paper.
For this workshop, all the supplies are included. However, if you are picky about being messy, you might want to bring a smock and gloves. During the lunch hour Karen will have a fun little bonus project, so if you have a sketchbook you can bring that too.
This workshop is suitable for adults and teens – from beginners on up!
All art supplies are included. Please bring a sketchbook, pen/pencil and a lunch, snack and water bottle! Optionally, you may want to bring a smock and gloves.
