Oil Paintings
Although he was not as prolific in oil as watercolour, it was an oil painting (Mount Skoki) that gained A.C. Leighton acceptance into the Royal Canadian Academy in 1935. His work in oil was entirely painted on canvas, and in studio, as opposed on on site like much of his other work. Many of these pieces are painted on textured and tinted backgrounds, and executed in monochromatic earth tones.
