Open House: Expanding Horizons – A New Vision for our Education Centre

In 2020 a feasibility study was undertaken to examine the Leighton Art Centre Education Centre. The heritage schoolhouse “Ballyhamage” is still fully functioning, but the pottery and weaving studios were found to be degrading, their foundations crumbling, and their floors sagging. Our beloved spaces, patched and pulled together for years by dedicated staff, volunteers, and tradespeople, were signaling it was time to renew and rebuild. Now we’re turning to you – to gather the support of artists and companies, naturalists and neighbours, friends and visionaries.

Please join us on October 19, 2022 to discuss the future of our beloved nearly-50-year-old Education Centre!

This event will be held in the museum; please park up by the house. Sunset will be just after 6:30 pm, so consider bringing a flashlight (your cell phone will work) to help you wander back to your vehicle!

Coffee, tea and water will be served.
