The Leighton Art Centre is situated on 80 acres of foothills landscape within Treaty 7 territory. With spectacular views and native flora and fauna, each season offers unique opportunities and art invitations.
Join Andrea Merredew for seasonal nature-based art workshops to celebrate the changes of the landscape and deepen your relationship with the Earth. Through a combination of visual journaling and land art, you will get to know the plants, animals, mountains and yourself a little better. All levels are welcome. Artist/ Instructor Biography:
I believe that everyone’s creative and that art has the power to transform people’s lives and help heal the Earth. I’m passionate about creating opportunities for people to connect to nature and themselves through art.
I’ve been working in the environmental field for over twenty years and for the past decade I have used the arts as a vehicle for change. When I’m not wandering around the forest with my family, you can find me teaching nature-based art classes or creating jewelry and mixed media art in my studio.
My art is sold at the Leighton Art Centre Gallery Shop, at various art markets and festivals across Canada and through my online shop.
You can find her mixed media art on her website or follow her daily practice on Instagram@andreamerredew.
