Description: Trees offer a powerful way to connect to nature. In this workshop, we will explore the beauty, character, and symbolism of trees through observation, using photographs and the natural surroundings of the Leighton Arts Centre as inspiration.

Participants will engage in a variety of creative exercises designed to deepen their connection with the natural world and discover ways to translate that inspiration into their own artistic practice. Through guided exploration and reflection, you’ll develop ideas and techniques that support your unique creative voice.

By the end of the workshop, you will leave with a clear vision and inspiration for creating larger, more personal works of art that reflect your individual style and connection to nature.

Audience: 13+ 

Level of Experience: All levels of experience are welcome. 

Supply List: 

Participants need to bring/purchase

• Art Journal (preferably 300g watercolour paper, ring bound is often easier to work with. Jenn likes the Hemp Heritage brand).
• Pens/markers/favourite art making supplies
• Cushion or chair for comfortable seating
• Blanket
• Shoes for walking outside
• Water bottle and snacks

Artist/ Instructor Biography: Jenn Wushke (MSW, RSW, RCSW) supports those experiencing burnout, vicarious trauma, anxiety, and overwhelm. She helps clients heal, shift stuck patterns, and reconnect with their authentic, professional, and creative selves. Her approach blends somatic, creative, and mindful practices with Schema Therapy, DBT, and ACT to foster insight and meaningful change. Known for her gentle, compassionate presence, Jenn also offers supervision, helping practitioners build skills and sustain enriching, effective work in therapy settings.

Cancellation and Refund Policy: Please note there is a NO REFUND policy on all Leighton Art Centre workshops. A refund will only be issued to participants if the workshop is cancelled by the workshop coordinator due to insufficient enrollment or extreme weather conditions. Workshops may be cancelled prior to the start date and participants will be notified via email and/or phone, and a full refund will be processed.
