Summer Camp

At Leighton Art Centre we explore, get inspired by, and learn to respect and protect nature!

Art & Nature Summer Camps, for kids aged 6-14*, offer campers a hands-on connection to art, nature and Alberta’s heritage. Each week during July and August, our campers are inspired to create in a wide variety of art forms while exploring our natural setting through nature hikes and outdoor games and activities.

Our historic Education Centre is set on 80 acres of breathtaking rural scenery 20 minutes from south Calgary. Working with small groups of campers, our skilled and enthusiastic instructors present daily activities that encourage creativity, exploration, learning, and fun.

* campers must turn 6 by July 1, 2024 to participate in 2024 (no exceptions)

• January 12, 2024 @ 10AM: Member Registration Begins (members will receive links & a discount code by email, at 10AM on January 12th)
• January 16, 2024 @ 10AM: Public Registration Begins

The privilege of Leighton Art Centre’s presence on 80 acres of foothills landscape within Treaty 7 territory is combined with respect, humility, and responsibility to be caretakers of the land. We acknowledge the people of these ancestral and traditional lands, which include the Niitsitapi – Blackfoot Confederacy – comprised of the Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani; the îyârhe Nakoda – Stoney Nakoda – including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations; as well as the Tsuut’ina First Nation and Otipemisiwak Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3.
