  • Can be a "working title".
  • An artist statement describes your art practice, influences and interests. It is a general introduction to your body of work, its history, the methods you use, why you created it. Please describe how your current work relates to your previous work, and how it fits in a contemporary context. How do you expect your audience will react and what do you expect your audience to take away from your work? Tips on writing an effective artist statement can be found at gyst-ink.com/artist-statement-guidelines.
  • Describe the proposed project or exhibition including: concept, materials and narrative. How will the exhibit appear? What are any technical and equipment requirements and any other relevant information about the exhibition? This should fit within the context of your artist statement.
  • This could be an artist demo, artist talk, and/or workshop to be taught at the Leighton Art Centre’s Education Centre sometime during the exhibition. This is a proposal only and not a firm commitment from either you or Leighton Art Centre.
