
Jane’s Walk | Nature, Art & Community Connection

Rooted in the urban philosophy of Jane Jacobs, this nature-based walk explores the paths and panoramic vistas of the Leighton Art Centre.
You are invited to join us for a walk activating our spaces through reflective, place-based experiences. We will share some ideas around everyday rituals of noticing, connection, local stewardship, and sensory engagement with “urban nearby nature”, and the Arts. Our walk will strengthen the Leighton Art Centre Community , our individual / personal wellbeing and a foster a sense of belonging through this place-based experience. No art skills needed!
WALK NOTES: Steep slopes, uneven terrain, breaks offered along the way, no dogs please (except service dogs), will use speakers / voice amplification, washrooms at beginning and end of walk, please dress for weather in sturdy outdoor shoes
MEETING SPOT: Meet at the LAC museum/house entrance
YOUR WALK LEADER: Julia is a outdoor play facilitator & nature connector, trained wellness coach, a longtime supporter and lover of Leighton Arts Centre and its remarkable foothills setting.
***Please note, Jane’s Walk coordinators ask that folks cancel their tickets through Eventbrite if they can no longer make it to a walk as tickets are limited. This allows folks on the waitlist to take open spots.***
