A Sweet Stroll Through Alberta’s Foothills

Description: Join Lori Beattie, author of Calgary’s Best Walks, for a scenic stroll through the Leighton Centre’s rolling Foothills grasslands, featuring spectacular Rocky Mountain views topped off with a scoop of ice cream. Bring your lunch and have a picnic for before the walk. This is a family friendly event. The walk is about 4 km with hills and uneven terrain. Copies of Lori’s book will also be available for purchase.

Audience: All ages

Supplies: Bring food, water, a picnic blanket and enjoy lunch with a view of the slopes after the walk.

Registration Cost: $5 (does not include GST & Eventbrite fees). Ages 6 and under participate for free. Copies of Lori’s book are available to purchase in person or as a ticket add-on.

Artist/Instructor Biography: Lori Beattie is the face behind Fit Frog. She has been organizing and leading year-round Calgary walks, hikes, and snowshoe days since 1997. She is also the author of Calgary’s Best Walks and Calgary’s Best Bike Rides, an writes about walking, biking, hiking, and connecting cities on foot and by bike in various publications. She presents to groups on the pleasure of self-propelled urban exploration, being a tourist in your own city, building communities through walking, and making Calgary feel like home, one step, or pedal, at a time.

Cancellation and Refund Policy: Please note there is a NO REFUND policy on all Leighton Art Centre workshops. A refund will only be issued to participants if the workshop is cancelled by the workshop coordinator due to insufficient enrollment or extreme weather conditions. Workshops may be cancelled prior to the start date and participants will be notified via email and/or phone, and a full refund will be processed.

Withdrawal from workshops for medical reasons must be accompanied by a doctor’s medical note and must be received by the Leighton workshop coordinator prior to the workshop start date to be qualified for a full refund.
